Seasoned Puffed Rice with Peanuts

 

 

3 T. vegetable oil

1/2 tsp. each cumin, mustard and sesame seeds

1 T. Jamaican curry powder

1/2 tsp. garam masala

1 teaspoon salt

2 T. margarine

1/2 cup peanuts

6 cups puffed rice (found in Indian grocery stores, not U.S. cereal)

 

 

Heat vegetable oil and seed mixture in a saucepan until seeds pop.  Remove from heat and stir in curry powder, salt, garam masala and margarine until margarine melts and all blended.   Pour over puffed rice and peanuts in microwave safe container and mix well.  Microwave on high for 5 min. 30 sec., stopping to stir every 2 min.  If desired, stir in a small amount of popped popcorn.
